Celestial Frequency Shifter

Jasper Noisemonger this is how fat music production should be on guitar bands. all producers should take note, this wall of sound with everything in its frequency space, every instrument audible, vocals IN the mix instead of obliterating most of it. THIS is how music should sound! Favorite track: Satellite.

stephen darby Shoegaze/Moog at it's finest. Favorite track: Ctrl.Alt.Del.

Matt Smith A simple force that literally explains itself. Simplicity but not without a heart of some of the most progressive rock bands out there. Lyrical and melodic genius with a sense of connection that just gets right in your head and keeps playing, even after the music has stopped. Anakin has it all. This new album is no exception as they've displayed even more space rock elements to satisfy even the most hardcore fans of this style, and yet has the patience and pace to satisfy any rock fan who loves a strong and precise percussion backbone and musical riffs that flow together like they were mastered by professionals of the music studio who have been doing it for decades. These guys rock and I'm hoping they're in this for the long haul. In a day and age like this Anakin bridges the gap between the days of HUM and Sunny Day Real Estate and other Indy rock with the new era of rock music with the same heart and feel but with all new elements.

about

Anakin San Diego, California

Anakin came into existence in 2010 and their mission was clear; to create an auditory atmosphere that captured the principal musical elements which ultimately inspired them to become musicians. Fuzzy, melodic, spaced-out, heavy and honest can all be used to describe the band’s unique sound, but it’s their ability to capture simplicity without devaluation that truly makes this machine operational. ... more
